Palo Alto Networks has launched a new AI-powered cybersecurity service designed to help businesses identify and fix security vulnerabilities before attackers can exploit them.

The new Unit 42 Continuous Frontier AI Defense uses multiple artificial intelligence models, including Anthropic’s Claude Mythos 5 and OpenAI’s GPT-5.6-Cyber, alongside open-weight models. The service continuously tests web applications, APIs, cloud infrastructure and other enterprise systems for potential attack paths.

Palo Alto Networks said the system is designed to provide continuous security testing and faster vulnerability remediation as corporate digital environments change. Its multi-model approach is intended to match different AI models to different security tasks.

The company said testing across more than 100 customer engagements found security exposures in all organizations assessed, with 37% of those exposures rated high or critical. Palo Alto Networks also reported that its internal deployment identified a year's worth of exposures within three weeks. These figures are company-reported results, rather than an independent industry assessment.

The launch comes as cybersecurity companies increasingly use AI to respond to AI-assisted attacks, creating a growing focus on machine-speed threat detection, vulnerability management and automated cyber defense.
