HOUSTON — Houston is preparing for a wide-ranging 2026–27 cultural season, bringing together theater, music, dance, visual arts and literature in one of the city's biggest annual arts showcases.

The upcoming program includes performances by the Houston Symphony, productions at Houston Grand Opera and new work from The Ensemble Theatre. Major museum exhibitions will also spotlight internationally recognized artists, including Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee and Henri Matisse.

The season also features contemporary installations and performances, with artists including Yayoi Kusama, Ernesto Neto and Rafael Lozano-Hemmer appearing in Houston's visual-arts program.

Dance audiences will have new productions from Houston Ballet, while literary programming is scheduled to feature writers including Claudia Rankine, Colson Whitehead and Marlon James.

The breadth of the program reflects Houston's increasingly diverse cultural identity, combining established institutions with contemporary and international artistic voices.
