ICE Arrests Alleged Brazilian Criminal Leader After Pursuit in North Carolina

Federal authorities have arrested Felipe Linares de Oliveira Dell Aquilla, known as "Don," following a vehicle pursuit in Mooresville, North Carolina. According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the arrest took place on June 5 after the suspect allegedly attempted to evade law enforcement, crashing into stopped traffic before trying to flee on foot.

DHS officials said Dell Aquilla was wanted in Brazil on charges including criminal association and extortion. Authorities allege he previously held leadership roles within Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) and Comando Vermelho (CV), two Brazilian criminal organizations recently designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations by the Trump administration.

Investigators also reported that Dell Aquilla was planning to leave the United States for Mexico and was allegedly holding his wife against her will during those preparations. Following the arrest, authorities interviewed his wife, who confirmed the allegations, according to DHS.

A search of the suspect's vehicle reportedly uncovered multiple cellphones, laptops, cash, and a 9mm handgun. Officials stated that Dell Aquilla entered the United States illegally at an unknown time and location.

He is currently facing a state felony charge of fleeing to elude arrest, while federal authorities are pursuing additional charges, including kidnapping and unlawful possession of a firearm by an undocumented immigrant. ICE has also lodged a detainer against him as the investigation continues.
