Tickets to watch the United States defeat Paraguay 4-1 on Friday night at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood came with a hefty price tag, putting live attendance out of reach for many fans. However, just a short distance away in Los Angeles, supporters like Jose Santiago and Ivan Gonzalez found a far more affordable way to be part of the action.
The two friends each paid only $10 to attend a watch party at the historic Coliseum, where thousands gathered for the FIFA Fan Festival during the second day of the event. Massive screens, roaring crowds, and a stadium-like atmosphere transformed the venue into a vibrant hub of World Cup excitement as fans celebrated the U.S. team’s dominant performance in its first home World Cup appearance in 32 years.
Santiago, from Fullerton, said the experience exceeded expectations. “We bought these tickets last minute, not knowing what to expect,” he said. “So far, we’ve been blown away. We definitely want to come back.”
The event highlighted a growing trend of accessible fan zones that allow supporters to enjoy world-class football without the steep costs of stadium tickets, while still sharing the energy and emotion of the global tournament.
